MAURICE DEFO

Maurice graduated as Forestry Engineer in Cameroon (Central Africa) and obtained his Ph.D. in wood science at Université Laval in Quebec in 1999. 

After completing a 2-year industrial postdoctoral research at Forintek Canada Corp. in Quebec, he returned to Université Laval as researcher and lecturer of wood physics, drying and preservation up to 2005. He then worked successively as scientist in wood quality assessment at University of Tennessee in Knoxville (USA), at FPInnovations in Vancouver (Canada) and at Natural Resources Canada in Quebec. 

Maurice joined NRC Construction in 2017 as Research Officer in the Façade Systems and Products (FSP) group. His field of research is in heat, air and moisture transfer across the building envelope. His current works focuses on the evaluation of the durability and climate resilience of wall assemblies using numerical and artificial intelligence methods.
